ITER is a large-scale scientific experiment that aims to demonstrate the technological and scientific feasibility of nuclear fusion, and thus pave the way for its industrial and commercial use. Fusion is the reaction that occurs in the core of the Sun and stars. Twentieth-century fusion science has identified the most efficient fusion reaction to reproduce in the laboratory setting. ITER is now close to achieving a reactor whose ability to produce energy would be continuous.
ICPS has been sought out for its engineering skills both in terms of research and communication. ICPS has carried out assessments to offer advice regarding the integration and the development of Cadarache’s Tokamak, especially the diagnosis system.
